Allie grew up running track in middle school and high school, and got into running primarily because she was very tiny and her parents thought she would get hurt playing lacrosse. She soon discovered her love for running, largely because size is less important in a footrace. Her fondest memory was running at the Millrose Games with her teammates. She played one season of both field hockey and track her freshman year at Stonehill College, then stopped running almost entirely for nearly a decade.
Running reentered her life on and off over the next 10 years. Running seemed to find her again during life transitions when she needed to renew her strength. Eventually, she found running to be something that could be with her every day, allow her to thrive as part of a community, and give her a space to strive for tangible goals.
A native New Yorker, Allie moved to California with her husband and bulldog to work as an art therapist in a prison in 2015. She began running more regularly and really started training when she joined a women's running club in 2018. She read every book about running she could get her hands on and eventually decided to get certified as a coach. Helping others improve themselves and achieve their goals is most important to Allie, and coaching is the best blending of her interests and strengths. Additionally, Allie is a new mom and is passionate about helping women stay active through their pregnancies and return to running postpartum.
Allie has run 11 marathons, including 4 of the 6 World Marathon Majors (New York City, Boston, Chicago, and Berlin). She will be returning to Tokyo in 2022 to compete in her 5th major marathon.
Outside of running, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, pilates, and yoga. Other interesting tidbits: she loves baking sourdough bread, can't keep a plant alive unless it is a cactus, is still searching for any good slice of pizza in the state of California, and religiously watches Survivor.
